About Me

I am very proud of my African heritage; therefore, I am continously searching for ways to explore it.  Sistah's Bookclubbing has afforded me such an opportunity. I like the fact that we focus on books written by Black or African-American Authors.  However, one of the things that I like most about our book club is the diversity of the members. Each sistah brings her own special flavor to group and each one is accepted/ embraced on her own merits.

I am a retired Human Resources Director (civilian life) and a Retired Army Reservist, Sergeant First Class (Military life).  Currently, I'm trying my hand at substitute teaching.--So, I guess you could call me a "people person".  I'm the mother of two adult children and grandmother of four.  Family ranks very high on my priorty list.

About Me

Hi everyone,

I am a proud member of Sistahs Bookclubbing. I've been a member for several years and am proud of how much I have grown. When I initially joined the group I didn't have the love for reading that I do now but I am certainly glad to be a part of such a sisterly organization. I encourgae everyone to embrace reading as a part of your life. It will take you to the utmost peaks of life if you give it a try.

I am presently a high school teacher. Married, with two children and love to read, cook and watch court tv :-)

About Me

I've kind of been a ghost member over the last couple years, always inquiring of what the bookclub was reading, wondering where you all were going and when. I thought I'd just come out of the background and join you all...FINALLY!

I immigrated to Shreveport in 2004 and still trying to become that "southern belle" I've seen on tv! I need a lot of work :/   I work for Dept of Children & Family Services and also Metropolitan Circles. In my spare time I enjoy hanging with my family, READING, movie watching and travelling.
